Our Business Anniversary and #100 Blog; featuring 3 lessons we've learned...#howto #getitright

I have to admit that despite how I feel emotionally,  I'm in a place I would prefer to be compared to where I've been for worse and for better, and I have been in some great places while feeling otherwise.

At this point, I wouldn't trade it in. I have the stability, freedom, opportunity,  and experience to contribute to auroraSoul and our ventures greater than any previous point In the last decade of my doing business.

I have less of a network currently, which holds as much weight alone as what I’ve acquired.

Oh, the bridges I burnt out while waking up. I had a rough time of it and as such, the business Suffered, which compounded my own issues.

Which brings us to my 1st lesson:

Mentorship might be the most important thing in business and personal life.

This is the most recent lesson I've relearned And have come to appreciate so it's noticeable that my last lesson to date is the 1st i share with you. If I had known better at any point in my life, we'll needless To say I would have been preaching and practicing across Dozens of messed opportunities.

The key is releasing the value when you're there. The impact you have on others and the effects they have on you and why.

Understanding that relationships and perspectives built around your career and dream are not a dime a dozen and each circle or network is different based on shifts in perspective and experience. It comes done to what you accept and who agrees.

A mentorship can look like one of 3 relationships and it's important that the 1st is fulfilled well, 1st.

  • 1st hand accountability Mutual contract(re phrase): you have a legit Person who can self identify as you mentor(s). You are a mentor, you are being mentored.

  • 2nd hand: a supervisor whose influence goes beyond the need of their title. Some who leave an impact on your life just from being within the range of responsibility.  You/they were like a Mentor, perhaps in hindsight.

  • 3rd Party influence; you take advice or guidance from indirect influence,  like your favorite YouTube or celebrate. Sometimes these individuals are public mentors, but if you don't know them and they don't know you 1st hand, they can never cater to your individual quirks and work to make them character compliments.

Notice that I haven't mentioned anything to do with talent at all, yet. Because there's one thing that sets both apart;

Lesson Two

reading work material while planking.

Discipline/consistency.

I will reference Discipline primarily because it is the drive behind consistency as well as something else in meaning (to me at least), and that's self respect.

Lesson two involves recognizing value, and having the self-respect to max it out for your greater goal. The value is YOU. A lot of creatives and entrepreneurs suffer identity crises, but 15 Minutes of Fame isn't a career, it's a viral phenomenon that has its place for trendy reasons. Value is your body of work, crafted and fine-tuned over time and with your best energy. This applies to teaching and creating an album, for example. Spending 1 -3 years crafting minds or music, what's the lesson plan and purpose? What does your music resonate with and why?

Talent is human statistics, great if you got it, meaningless if you don't craft out and be disciplined in its value.

Lesson Three; the 3 Ps

  • Plan

  • Prep

  • Partner

How are you going to do it, what do you need, with what (who as a) Resources?

Resources are partnerships in the sense that there's a symbiosis, some type of Mutual Will, exchange and benefit.

A lean Business is where  99% of every independent artist, entrepreneur, and small business owner should start. (The other 1% Is for talent who people flock to that can plan for Them, and the “1 percent”). The point is to understand what The economics are of your pursuit or brand.

Politicians are brands.

Small, single-owner shop? That's a Brand.

A  social media figure with a PHD, and personality? Brand

Brands need Plans.

and you will add to, change, expand and update as needed because it will help you recognize who and what fits into your plan and prep.

Partnerships.

When it comes to Business, branding and a partnership can be your platform, sponsor, mentor, or literal business partner. For each because we need to ask ourselves how can the partnership best benefit from our independent value?

The mentor can become a business advisor or board member.

That sponsorship pays for your audience, does it reflect your brand?

Does how you feel about a person impact the mutual benefits? (Politics, anyone)

Your plan and prep will help you see the value when it comes to the network (partnerships on standby) you need for your goals. Would you work with someone who can't consistently answer questions about the point of why they do what they do? Probably yes if they're highly talented, in which case you're probably the mentor, manager, planner, and prepper. Just know your role and network the rest, as long as there's a plan ( which leads into mutual contracts/agreements to ensure everybody is on the right page of the  plan)

Sure there are plenty of tips on how to do things the 'right way,' but I wanted to celebrate my milestones by highlighting the 3 where I fell shortest in one way or another and at crucial points. For a business plan-specific guide based on my experiences, check out my ebook, Diadem of Life.
